The Holy Amarnath Yatra is an annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath Temple, a Hindu shrine located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,888 meters and is about 141 km from Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The pilgrimage is considered one of the holiest in Hinduism, and it attracts thousands of devotees every year.

The Holy Amarnath Yatra via Baltal Sonamarg is another popular pilgrimage route for devotees. The Baltal route is around 14 km long and takes approximately 3-4 days to complete. This route is shorter and steeper than the Pahalgam route, and it is recommended for experienced trekkers. The trek from Baltal to Amarnath is a steep climb, and it is advisable to carry necessary trekking gear and warm clothing. The best time to undertake the Amarnath Yatra via Baltal Sonamarg is from mid-June to early August, which is the official pilgrimage season.

DAY 01 - Arrival, Srinagar

Arrival and Transfer to Sonamarg/Baltal subject to condition if they arrive before 12 P.M. Proceed to Sonamarg/Baltal.

Optional: You can choose to stay in Baltal, a camping ground for pilgrimage, and a favorite halt during Amarnath Cave Yatra. Baltal has some well-arranged tents and camps for the pilgrims.

Once you get transported to a hotel/luxury tent in Sonamarg/Baltal, complete check-in formalities and enjoy your overnight stay after dinner.

Day 02 - Baltal - A Day for Amarnath Cave

After breakfast, your spiritual journey will start either from Sonamarg or Baltal. Baltal will be your base point where the trek to Amarnath Cave will start. Apart from trekking, pony rides, pithoos, or palki, are available as an easy option to reach the holy cave. After you complete the darshan at the sacred cave, get back to your base camp in Baltal or hotel in Sonamarg for an overnight stay and delicious dinner.

Distance from Sonamarg to Amarnath Cave Temple: 22 km (approx.)

Day 03 - Srinagar: Beauty in Abundance

After breakfast as you will be proceeding to Srinagar today from Baltal. It is suggested to enjoy the scenic landscape, ensuring Srinagar and gaze at the picturesque panoramas. When you reach Srinagar, your houseboat/hotel stay is reserved for you! Make sure you perform your check-in formalities. Later in the afternoon go for a Shikara ride and Local Sight-Seeing of Mughal Gardens

Day 04 - Srinagar Airport - Trip Ends

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Srinagar Airport/bus stand. Here your Amarnath Yatra from Baltal by road concludes, but the windswept beauty will live long in your memories.
