This tour is the answer for painting artists who are looking for inspiration to quench their creative thirst. India is a paradise for artists, as the country’s varied and vibrant colours can be captured as intoxicating memoirs on your canvas.
On this once-in-a-lifetime painting workshop led by an artist, lovers of art traverse the landscapes and lives of India and capture them on their canvas to take back home. We take you on a vibrant journey of North India, from the bustling heritage of Delhi and the glorious Golden Temple in Amritsar, to the breathtaking Himalayan mountain beauty of Himachal Pradesh, including the home of Dalai Lama.
Day 1. To Delhi
Departure from your home country.
Day 2. Delhi Sightseeing
Arrival Delhi and then on transfer to the Hotel Shangrila Eros. Afternoon sightseeing includes visits to the famous monuments of Old and New Delhi. Enjoy lunch at the Lodhi Gardens.
Day 3. To Amritsar (Golden Temple)
Travel from Delhi to Amritsar, the city of the Golden Temple – the holiest place for Sikhs. Transfer to Hyatt Hotel. Sightseeing tour of the bustling Amritsar city. Evening visit to the Golden Temple. Find yourself immersed in the spiritual energy of the place by witnessing the Sukh Aasan ceremony – a grand ceremony that takes place around midnight- when the holy book of Sikhs is taken for an overnight rest. Be a part of this enthralling spiritual experience.
Also explore the free kitchen and Langar – a massive benevolent human effort, which feeds around 25,000 people every day of the year for lunch and dinner. Every day, tonnes of food are cooked in this voluntarily supported kitchen by the community. Anyone can volunteer for these services and experience the power of energy and humanity.
Day 4. Amritsar
Full day painting excursion at the Amritsar Golden Temple.
Day 5. To Dharamshala
Drive to Dharamshala – and then stay at the Grace Cottage.
Day 6. Dharamshala
Visit to Dharamshala Town/ HH Dalai Lamas teaching / Painting / sightseeing.
Day 7. Dharamshala
Painting day, including a visit to the village.
Day 8. Dharamshala
Painting day including village visits.
Day 9. To Pragpur
Drive to Pragpur. Stay at Judges Court. Thoroughly enjoy a trip to Pragpur, a medieval and beautiful village. Experience the beauty of a peaceful life and enjoy some fulfilling moments with locals – take a walk with them to see the work of silversmiths and weavers.
Day 10. Pragpur
Painting day and sightseeing.
Day 11. Pragpur
Painting day and sightseeing.
Day 12. To Shimla
Transfer to the ‘Queen of Hills’, Shimla. Stay at the Oberoi Cecil.
Day 13. Shimla
Today will be for sightseeing and painting.
Day 14. To Delhi
Travel by Toy Train and then by Shatabadi Express Train to reach Delhi. Stay at the Shangrila Eros.
Day 15. Delhi
Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, visit the Sanskriti Kendra – Anandgram and then visit the Museum of Everyday Art in India, the Museum of Indian Terracota and the Museum of Indian Textiles. These Museums are the main parts of the Sanskriti Kendra, which works towards preserving and nurturing the creative talent and eminence of the Indian Art and Culture. The visit ends with an enlightening talk and a farewell dinner.
Day 16. On the final day
Departure for your home country.
