India – A country With Unity in Diversity

Being one of the largest democracies in the world, India too has made its borders secure yet very friendly to foreigners. Here are a few important facts that you need to be aware of as you plan your trip to India.

  • Entry & Exit: Please note that with respect to the country you come from, the visa process does vary. All foreigners are bound to have valid passports and a copy of your visa. Some countries are permitted on the basis of 'visa on arrival' and hence, you need to clarify what visa is valid according to your country. For further information, please click here.
  • Currency: In India, the only currency that is functional is the Indian Rupees (INR). You can exchange your currency to the INR at any international airport at a predefined exchange rate. Also, with technology taking over the globe, credits cards, debit cards and cashless payments are valid in almost every part of the country. So, you don't really have to load your-self with money notes always!
  • Monuments & Sightseeing: As you plan your tours, make sure you have checked the monuments and destinations in advance. Several locations have timings specific to when they're open and when they close. Being well- informed in prior will save you the pain of a delay in schedule. Also, there is sometimes the probability of an unscheduled change of timings, due to climatic, political or religious event.
  • Communication & Greeting: India is one of the many countries whose major populations can understand and speak English. Just in case you find yourself in need of assistance, you need not worry! Greeting in India is majorly a 'namaste' especially if you visit a local's home. If not, just a smile will do its wonders.
  • Climate: Before you get all set for your vacation, make sure you have the right set of clothing for according to your destination. India is a country of a variety of climatic conditions and regions. Each region is different from the other.
  • Food: You will be in the land of spices. The food does pamper your palette but different nationalities arriving have different tastes. Make sure you are guided with regards to the food you order to save wastage and bad stomachs!
  • Safety & Security: We believe that your safety is our first priority. If it is your first time, please make sure your interaction is with a trusted person. Avoid leaving your belongings away from your supervision in public places. Always keep hand sanitizers and face masks to protect yourself in polluted areas.
