Operational Travel Update :
Flights and Wildlife Safaris !!
Dear Valued Business Partners and Friends of Indus Discoveries
We would like to update you on the latest developments regarding flights and wildlife safari operations to ensure your travel plans remain seamless
IndiGo Airlines – Operational Update
Earlier this month, IndiGo experienced temporary operational challenges, resulting in flight delays and cancellations across multiple sectors in India, affecting both metro and regional airports. The airline has since reviewed crew deployment and rationalised schedules, and operations are now largely stabilised nationwide.
During the disruption, some guests faced delays, missed connections, and itinerary changes; however, most situations have now been resolved through rebookings, refunds, or alternative flight arrangements. We continue to actively monitor airline advisories and support guests to minimise any impact on travel plans.
Mobile Phone Restrictions – Madhya Pradesh National Parks
Tiger reserves in Madhya Pradesh have introduced restrictions on carrying mobile phones during safaris, particularly within core zones. This follows a Supreme Court directive and subsequent court guidelines aimed at reducing disturbance to wildlife and preventing misuse of electronic devices inside protected areas.
Guests may be required to deposit phones at entry points or keep them switched off during game drives. While cameras are permitted, travellers are advised to plan accordingly and view this measure as part of strengthened conservation and responsible tourism practices.
Kabini / Nagarhole and Bandipur – Safari Closures
Safari operations in Bandipur and Kabini / Nagarhole National Parks region, have been temporarily suspended following recent human–wildlife conflict incidents. Forest authorities have taken this decision as a precautionary safety measure, allowing time for monitoring animal movement and implementing mitigation strategies.
The situation remains under review, and reopening will be announced once conditions stabilise. In the interim, alternate wildlife experiences, revised activity options, or routing adjustments are being offered to guests wherever feasible.
Weather - Related Operational Adjustments
Seasonal weather conditions in parts of North, Central and Eastern India have led to occasional changes in road conditions, flight timings and sightseeing schedules. Morning fog, reduced visibility or isolated rainfall may affect early departures and intercity transfers.
Guests are advised to allow adequate buffer time and remain flexible with daily programs. Our operations team remains in close coordination with local partners to make real-time adjustments, ensuring guest safety and minimal disruption to overall travel experiences.
We hope these updates help you plan your travels with ease and confidence.
As the year comes to a close, we wish you a joyful Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with exciting adventures and memorable experiences. Safe travels and happy holidays from all of us at Indus Discoveries !!
